Who can attend I2E2?
I2E2 is by invitation only for its first year. We are striving for diversity in universities and academic engineering departments. Those we can’t accommodate will receive priority consideration for 2019.

What is Champaign-Urbana like?
Champaign and Urbana are twin cities with a total population of about 120,000. Located in east Central Illinois, it is surrounded by farmland. Champaign-Urbana has a growing technology and information sector, and has a “micro-urban culture.”

What is the weather like?
In January and February, temperatures will range from 17 – 38F (-8.5 – 3.2C). You will need a warm coat, a hat, and gloves.

How will I get around Champaign-Urbana?

Will there be Chinese interpreters for the program?
No. However, there are many speakers of Chinese available if you have a special need while you are here.

Will I have access to the internet?
Yes. Your hotel has internet access, and we will help you get a guest account for the University of Illinois while you are here. Eduroam is also available.
